I am a social worker who has been working as an Approved Adoption Practitioner with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services since 1997. As such, I have facilitated adoptions with almost 200 families in Guelph, Wellington County, Waterloo Region and Milton. I have assisted with private international and domestic adoptions, as well as public adoptions and I am happy to work with traditional or non-traditional couples or singles. I am also employed as the Adoption Practitioner for Beginnings Family Services, a domestic adoption, infertility and counselling agency.

I have a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. For 4 years, I worked as a Family Service Worker at the Toronto Children’s Aid Society prior to becoming a private adoption worker. I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well as with the Ontario Association of Social Workers, and am on the Advisory Board for AdoptOntario. Each year I attend adoption training sessions to keep up to date and am re-approved annually by the Ministry.  I also have personal experience in adoption, as the eldest sibling to two adopted brothers, one adopted as an infant and one as an older child.

I can provide a consultation to discuss the choices that might be considered and to provide more details about the adoption process. For those who decide to continue, I am able to complete the required  SAFE homestudy, assist with reviewing potential matches, provide any supervision or follow-up reports that are required and assist with on-going adoption consultation and support.
